Must Know

Weather Preparation: The weather in Shimla and Manali can be unpredictable, especially in winter. Carry warm clothes, even if you're visiting in summer, as temperatures can drop unexpectedly. In winter, snow gear like gloves, boots, and thermal wear is essential.

Altitude Sickness: Manali, especially areas like Rohtang Pass, sits at a higher altitude, which may cause altitude sickness. Stay hydrated, take it slow, and avoid heavy physical activity on your first day to acclimatize.

Road Conditions: The roads leading to Shimla and Manali can be winding and narrow, especially during the monsoon or winter months. Drive cautiously, and if you're not driving, make sure to choose a reliable transportation service.

Cash and Connectivity: While both Shimla and Manali have ATMs, it's always wise to carry cash, especially if you're visiting remote areas. Mobile network coverage might be patchy in higher altitudes, so plan accordingly.
